Have you ever actually made an animated image? I have and it's not easy to smoothly move one body part, never mind multiple, and multiple body parts are moving in the animations.

Most other animated scenes in VN's aren't smooth, they're jumpy as there are not enough images created for the animation. This is why I believe the animations L&P has paid for are done by someone who is professional at it, and that doesn't come cheap.

I don't work with 3D graphics.
But, I know the price of 3D graphics that can be viewed three-dimensionally rather than flat.
The reason I'm silent is because it's not porn.
It is much more complex, much more detailed, and much more realistic than AWAM.

L&P's animation is also definitely not that expensive.

The composition does not change and there is no creation.
All it does is make the results of L&P's work appear to be moving for a short period of time.

If that price is for making a few seconds of animation, even if he only works on one a week, he is the owner and L&P is the subcontractor.

The animations could have been added in after the main story finished but whether he does it now or in future, he still has to pay for them at some point. It's not like the animations are bad, they're mostly really great so far.

I have my own issues with AWAM but credit when credit is deserved, this was a pretty good reply by L&P.

It could have been a good statement if he actually stood by it. The sidejobs are still there and he's planning to continue making them. Mind you this statement is from November 23, back when he still wanted to take a break from development after PD13 to work on a Steamtrailer+release (to hire a team with the money from Steam, by the way....lol). Oh surprise, nothing ever came out of it (just like the statement).

As I've said before, I'm more curious about what actually caused L&P to be reported to Patreon. Whilst the side jobs are undoubtedly popular, they also have possibly the greatest risk of getting the game banned. As much as people might joke about supporters getting annoyed about Sophia's change in appearance, I don't think it's a coincidence that the release of the update that announces the return of the side jobs is also the update L&P has problems with Patreon. I suspect there's a growing dissatisfaction among patrons that the side jobs are delaying the progress of the main storylines.

I mean, there's a reason the 2nd side job isn't even an option in DoL. In the official censored game, Sophia just helps Ava with her paperwork.
